Abstract
Groundwork was first founded in London in 2007, for the exploration of experimental architecture and urban and landscape design. In 2011, its office was set up in Central, Hong Kong, where Mr. Yuen was involved in a range of professional, social and theoretical projects. Yet, a large portion of what he has achieved was hidden, conceptual, social, grunge, cheap, complex and all-in-all; un-glamorous. Mr. Yuen will come and share his experience on doing projects that deliver social value. He believes that architecture should be experienced and it should be at the service of mankind, i.e. the collectives, not only for the egos of the few and selected. He wishes to share with you how un-glamorous some of his works are, and how these projects have stimulated new ideas in the field of architecture.
